Empowering Small Businesses — The GlamBug Way
At GlamBug, our mission goes beyond jewellery. It is about helping every small business that dreams of growing in silver to start well, with the right designs, clear prices and support.
Updated October 2026 as a practical guide.
Silver jewellery is a good business to start small: the pieces are light, the price points suit everyday buyers, and you can begin without a large stock. This guide shows five ways to start, how silver is priced, what the 100 g minimum order means in real pieces, and a plan for your first 30 days.
Five ways to start
You do not have to choose one for ever. Many sellers begin with one and add another as they grow.
| Way to start | Do you hold stock? | How you begin | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Showcase or shop | Yes | Order from the catalogue and display the pieces. | A jeweller, boutique or gift shop adding silver. |
| Online store with dropshipping | No | List the designs, order from us when you sell, and we pack and ship. | A new online seller who wants to test the market without buying stock. |
| Social and WhatsApp selling | Optional | Share designs with your customers, then order from us. | Sellers who already have a following. |
| Your own label (white label) | You decide | Put your tags and packaging on designs that already sell. | A brand-minded seller with a clear audience. |
| A platform or app (Partner API or Shopify app) | No | Connect your store or software to our catalogue. | A store with its own system, or a developer. |
If you are not sure where to start, a video call of about 30 minutes is a good way to talk it through and see the pieces.
How silver jewellery is priced
Silver jewellery is priced by weight. The price of a piece is its weight multiplied by a per-gram rate, so a heavier piece costs more even within the same catalogue. That has two practical effects:
- You can work out your costs before you order. Each product in the B2B app shows its weight and your rate.
- Light pieces are easy entry points. A chain or a pair of earrings weighs only a few grams, so a customer can buy one at a modest price.
Your margin is simple: what your customer pays minus what you pay us. Set your prices with the weight in mind, so that a heavier piece earns you more rupees, not fewer.
What does a 100 g minimum look like?
In the B2B app, wholesale accounts see a minimum of 100 g per order, and mixed categories are allowed. That sounds like a lot until you see the weights. These figures come from our catalogues:
| Catalogue | Typical weight of a piece | About how many pieces make 100 g |
|---|---|---|
| Dokiya chains | About 5 g | About 20 chains |
| Candy earrings | About 4.5 g a pair | About 22 pairs |
| Glam Kada bracelets | About 15.7 g | About 6 bracelets |
Because you can mix categories, a first order of 100 g can be a few of each, such as 8 chains, 8 pairs of earrings and 2 bracelets. If you would rather not meet a minimum, selling through the Shopify app or by dropshipping lets you start without holding stock, and the Shopify app has no minimum order quantity.
Your first 30 days
- Week 1: decide who you sell to. Pick a customer (for example college students, brides' guests or gift buyers) and a price level. A clear customer makes every later choice easier.
- Week 1: choose your way to start from the table above, and book a video call if you want advice.
- Week 2: choose a small range. Pick two or three categories and a handful of designs in each, in a few different weights, so you can see what your customers choose.
- Week 2: set your prices from the weights and your rates, and add your margin.
- Week 3: prepare to sell. Photograph or collect good images, write a short description for each design, and prepare a care card for your customers.
- Week 3: place a small first order, or connect your store or chat so orders can reach us.
- Week 4: sell, learn and adjust. Notice which designs and weights move, and plan your second order around them.
Money and cash flow
- Start small. A first batch lets you learn how ordering, delivery and customers behave before you commit more.
- Dropshipping uses a prepaid wallet. You top up, and orders draw from it. Keep enough in it for the orders you expect.
- Plan your delivery promises. Orders confirmed and paid before 3:00 PM, Monday to Saturday, are dispatched the same day, and delivery takes an estimated 2 to 5 business days across India. Promise your customers the longer end.
- Know the returns terms. Goods once sold are not returnable, except when a piece arrives damaged or defective and a claim is raised within 48 hours of delivery. Tell your customers this up front.
- Payment. We accept every payment mode that suits you as a buyer.
What GlamBug gives you
- Ready stock and a full catalogue, shown in the B2B Catalogue App with weights and your rates.
- Personal support on WhatsApp, Monday to Saturday, 10am to 8pm, and live help on a video call.
- Ways to sell without stock: dropshipping, the Shopify app and the Partner API.
- A route to your own label through white label and private branding.
A word on registrations
Which registrations and licences you need depends on your business, your turnover and where you sell. This guide is not legal or tax advice, so check what applies to you with an accountant or advisor. In the B2B app, a GST number is optional when you sign up, so you can register your business profile without one.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a shop to start?
No. Many of our partners sell online or over chat, and some never hold stock because we pack and ship for them.
Can I start with a small order?
Yes. In the B2B app, the minimum is 100 g per order, with mixed categories allowed. The Shopify app has no minimum order quantity, and you can ask us about a small first batch for dropshipping.
Do I need a GST number?
A GST number is needed to approve a wholesale (B2B app) account at GlamBug. Dropshipping and Shopify accounts do not need one. Whether your own business needs one is a question for your accountant.
