Our Expansion to Global Markets — Starting with the USA
By March 2023, GlamBug took another step: expanding into global markets, starting with the United States. Our experience with Italian silver had set a high bar, and the next move was to connect Indian businesses and craftsmanship with demand abroad.
Updated October 2026 as a guide for buyers outside India.
Today we serve export orders for buyers in more than 22 countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia and Dubai. This guide explains what we provide, how exporting silver jewellery from India works, and what an importer should check before ordering.
How export orders work with us
- On request, when you place your order. We ship across India as standard. For an export order, tell us the country when you place the order, and we handle it from there.
- More than 22 countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia and Dubai.
- The same silver. Export orders come from the same catalogue as our Indian orders: 925 sterling silver jewellery. We test samples ourselves for nickel, and you can read more in our nickel-free guide.
What we provide for an export order
From our original announcement, and still the core of how we work:
- Custom invoicing and export-ready documentation. Your order comes with the paperwork a shipment leaving India needs.
- Packing and logistics built for B2B delivery. Orders are packed and shipped with B2B delivery in mind.
- A catalogue you can see before you buy. Browse designs and weights, and use a video call of about 30 minutes to see pieces live, wherever you are.
How exporting jewellery from India works
This is general information to help you plan. It is not legal or tax advice, and your own advisor or customs broker should confirm what applies to you.
- Classification. Silver jewellery is classified under the international Harmonised System, in heading 7113. Customs on both sides use this code.
- Documents. A shipment normally needs a commercial invoice, a packing list and a customs declaration filed in India. Many countries also ask the importer for their own import registration or identification number.
- GST on exports. Under Indian GST law, exports of goods are zero-rated, which means no GST is charged to the overseas buyer. The exporter handles this on the Indian side.
- Courier or cargo. Jewellery usually travels by courier or air cargo with tracking and insurance. The method, the timeline and the charges depend on the country and the value of the order.
What an importer should check
The importing country decides what happens when the parcel arrives, so a few checks save time and surprises:
- Import rules for jewellery in your country, including any licence, registration or identification number you need as an importer.
- Customs duties and taxes. These are normally the importer's responsibility unless agreed otherwise, and they change. Check the current rates for your country before you order, and ask us what applies to your order.
- Purity marking. Some countries have rules about how silver must be marked or described. We supply 925 sterling silver, and you should check whether your market has marking requirements.
- A customs broker. For larger orders, a local customs broker can handle the import side and the clearance.
- A complete delivery address with postal code and a phone number the courier can reach.
What to send us when you order
- Your country and delivery address.
- The designs and quantities, using the catalogue codes, for example GB-055B for our Dokiya chains.
- Your importer details, if your country requires them.
- Any special requirements, such as branding or packing.
We then confirm the details for your country: how the order will ship, the timeline and the charges. Delivery times quoted on our site for India do not apply to export orders.
Before you order
If you are checking us out for the first time, our guide to verifying a silver supplier lists the checks worth running: company and GST details, trademark, BIS hallmark registration and purity testing. We would rather you checked.
