GlamBug achieved another milestone in July 2025: a custom-built, in-house POS (Point of Sale) system, designed for jewellers, wholesalers and small businesses.

Updated October 2026 with how the POS works today.

A jewellery sale involves weights, rates, tax, images and a customer who wants to see what they are buying. This post shows how our POS handles an order from first item to dispatch.

What the POS is for

It is the tool our team uses to take and manage orders, and the same system sits behind our B2B ordering. It was built by our in-house tech team around how silver jewellery is actually sold, so weight, rate and tax are part of the order from the start.

From first item to dispatch

  1. Choose or create the customer. Search an existing customer or add a new one.
  2. Add items. Pick products from the catalogue, or scan them by camera, from a gallery image or by SKU.
  3. Prices and weights calculate for you. Rates, weights and tax are worked out by the system, so the total follows from the items.
  4. Apply a coupon, if one applies.
  5. Add shipping. Enter the delivery address, the shipping charge and the courier.
  6. Save a draft or confirm. A draft can be finished later.
  7. Record the payment. Payment can be recorded against the order in more than one mode, including the customer's wallet, bank transfer and UPI. The order shows what is paid and what is still due.
  8. Dispatch or hand over. Ship it, or mark it handed over in store.

What the customer receives

  • A quotation or invoice with itemised pricing, so the customer sees what makes up the total.
  • Product images in the order document, so what they are paying for is visible.
  • Tax shown clearly, with CGST and SGST or IGST as the delivery state requires.

Why a POS matters for a jewellery business

  • Fewer mistakes. When the system calculates weight, rate and tax, there is less to enter by hand.
  • A clear record. Every order, payment and balance is in one place.
  • Faster quotes. A buyer waiting for a price gets it quickly.
  • Works with the rest of GlamBug. The same data feeds the B2B app and our order process.
